Why does my well water smell like rotten eggs?

A sulfur smell is usually caused by hydrogen sulfide gas naturally occurring in groundwater or by sulfur-reducing bacteria in your well. This is common in North Houston and treatable with shock chlorination or a filtration system.

How do I know if my well has bacteria?

There are often no visible signs of bacterial contamination. The only way to confirm is through professional water testing, which 77 Water Well recommends annually.

What causes low water pressure in a well system?

Low pressure can be caused by a failing pump, waterlogged pressure tank, clogged pipes, or sediment buildup. Our technicians diagnose and fix the cause quickly.

How often should a private well be inspected?

The National Ground Water Association recommends a professional well inspection at least once every 10 years, with annual water quality testing.

What is well plugging and when is it needed?

Texas State Law requires landowners to plug all abandoned or unused wells to protect the water supply. 77 Water Well Inc. is licensed to handle all well plugging in Texas.

What Are Water Pump Services?

Water pump services involve the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of water pumping systems used to move water from a source—such as a well or reservoir—to homes, farms, and industrial properties. These services are essential for ensuring steady water pressure, maintaining a safe and clean water supply, preventing pump failure and costly downtime, and complying with local water codes and safety standards.

Pump Installation Services

Choosing the right pump for your well system isn’t just about horsepower—it’s about matching the system with your water table depth, usage requirements, and geological conditions. Our team evaluates all aspects before recommending and installing: submersible pumps for deep wells, jet pumps for shallow wells, booster pumps for improved pressure, and solar-powered water pumps for remote/agricultural locations. All installations are carried out by licensed water well technicians using state-of-the-art tools and follow Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) standards.

Pump Repair and Troubleshooting

When your pump malfunctions, you need a solution fast. Our experts can quickly diagnose and repair common and complex issues, such as: no water or low water pressure, constant cycling or short-cycling, unusual noises or vibrations, faulty pressure switches, electrical or motor issues, and impeller wear and tear.
